Gloria Estefan takes care of the pences
Posted by Pim ter Linde , June 12 at 08:37
A new study trip to extend our range of incentives was one with destination Miami. Because we had a lot of Flying Blue points from KLM it seemed nice to us to exchange them. But a gift horse etc…. It seems that since KLM was taken over by Air France they only are good enough to transport people to the French airline. So with KLM to Paris and with Air France to Miami. And although the transfer time is 50 minutes – nota bene at the same terminal - you almost miss your connecting flight because of all safety doings. The direct flight from Martinair seems more pleasant to us where you can even buy 10 centimetres extra space for your legs for 50 euros extra. The space at Air France is extremely uncomfortable.
We had chosen the accommodation Cardozo Hotel *** at Ocean Drive in South Beach. Everything there still has a human dimension. The hotel is owned by Gloria Estefan and the staff consists of nice Cuban chicks and they know this very well. The room was excluding breakfast but Gloria Estefan surprised us with a free breakfast from Monday to Thursday. Again, thank you very much, Gloria! Only she had a few strange restrictions. In the weekend the price of the room was increased because the hotel was fully booked. And together with the complementary breakfast the coffee was for our own account. So Mrs. Estefan for sure takes care of the pences.
But let's be honest: the Cardozo Hotel is one of the hotspots in the bustling Art-Deco district of Miami.
But to be honest: the Cardozo Hotel is one of the hotspots in the roaring Art Deco district of Miami and what is funnier than all of a sudden seeing from your breakfast terrace the making of a movie. We didn't understand a thing. 2 Men and 2 doggies, but the circus around it was wonderful..
