Biography

Ciska Peters was born on June 1st 1945 in Nijmegen. Her career in music started as usual at that time participating in many local song contests. In 1962 she won the “Big Award of Radio Luxemburg”. Besides the car she won, her professional singing career started. She signed a contract with record company MMP from CNR and her first singles “Wie Weet” and “Niemand zal mijn tranen zien” immediately were successful and were listed high in the Dutch Hit Parade. In 1963 Willem Duys invited her to join the Dutch team at the Songfestival in Knokke.

After that Ciska steady on builded on her career and every year her record company released 2 or 3 singles that regularly were found on the hit charges. She married Royal Air Force photographer Pim ter Linde and they had a son: Mark Robert. Other highlights in this period were the visit to New York because of the record “Don’t press that button mister” of which the benefits went to Unicef and her performance as supporting act of the Beatles in Blokker. “And now, ladies and gentlemen, after the swinging performance of Ciska Peters, we kindly ask your attention for “The Beatles.....”

Ciska has always worked with the best of record producers from Holland. After she changed of record company and joined Phonogram she worked with a.o. Tony Vos, Peter Koelewijn, Tom Peters, Piet Souer, Ad Kraamer and Will Hoebee. The results were a regular serial of succes numbers as “Dans naar de zon”, “España Mañana”, “Naar de kermis” (with Ronnie Tober), “Kom in mijn armen” (with Aristakes), Zeeman” and “De Zwarte kat”. On radio and television Ciska Peters was a gladly invited guest in numerous programs.

Meanwhile husband Pim ter Linde, who quickly changed from the Royal Air Force to record company Negram and later on Phonogram, started the first Dutch professional artist management. Interlinde Artists Management, the legendary “House of the Stars”, with a.o. Adèle Bloemendaal, Bonnie St. Claire, Don Mercedes, Saskia & Serge, Ron Brandsteder, Ivo Niehe, Lee Towers, Vanessa and LUV’.

After 25 years of her singing career and having been 6 times in every venue in Holland and Belgium Ciska Peters was more and more to be found at the office of Interlinde. In 1985 she decided to stop performing and fully contribute to the organization of business events. Business went so well that Interlinde Artists Management was changed into an organization for business events and the name was changed into Peters & Ter Linde Organization. After a few years the event organization belonged to the top 3 of Dutch event organizers. In 1998 they won the prestigious DOOR-award “Klantgerichtheidsprijs”, which can be translated as: “Best company towards clients”. In this competition they beated companies like Visa and Robeco.

In 2002 Peters & Ter Linde Organization was sold to Verhaaf Party Catering. After a sabbatical year blood was thicker than water and Ciska Peters Events was founded, which company meanwhile is not acquiring actively any more.

In spring of 2012 Ciska Peters was persuaded by her old mate Ronnie Tober to sing one more time their big hit “Naar de kermis” on television by the occasion of his 65th birthday. Their performance in the TROS tv show “Sterrenparade” was a great success and in the meantime it’s already repeatedly broadcasted, also on TV Oost.

Because of the many reactions and the warm applause Ciska decided to perform live again. And so the circle of her career is round.
